2016 FBU ALL DMV National Championship Tournament Team Tryout #2

PLEASE WERE YOUR OFFICIAL YOUTH CLUB GAME JERSEY FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES

  • Event is for 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders.
  • 5th Graders are allowed to try out for the 6th grade teams.
  • This is the 2nd official tryout for Team Maryland, the home of the 2012 7th Grade National Champions, and Team Metro Maryland, the 2nd Regional Franchise that we have been awarded for the 2016 Season.
  • This is the 1st Official Tryout for Team Northern VA.  Northern Va coaches will be leading the drills and running the show.
  • So in essence we have 3 teams from the DMV that will compete in this prestigious tournament.  This means there are more than enough opportunities for kids with the talent to play in this tournament.
    • During Tournament time, we will all compete against one another, but prior to that we will compete with one another to find the best of the best and place them on the teams that are the best fit for them.
    • There will be up to 40 roster spots per team, and each region has 3 Teams (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade.  That is up to 120 roster spots per region.
    • There will be 3 regions (Maryland, Metro Maryland, & Nova), for a total of 360 total roster spots.
  • Participants from the entire DMV are welcome! (Maryland, DC, Northern Va, and Delaware are all welcome).  For states bordering MD and Virginia, if you don't have an FBU Team in your area, you may be eligible to play for one of our teams.  It is all a function of the distance from your home to the closest home base for our teams.
    • Home Base for Maryland and Metro Maryland is Upper Marlboro, MD
    • Home Base for Northern VA is Alexandria, VA
    • So if you are from out of state please go to www.FBUNC.com and find the regional teams that are closest to you. Calculate the distances and you will know what regional team you are eligible.
    • For example, Delaware and regions of Pennsylvania are closer to Upper Marlboro than the next closest region and you would be eligible for FBU Maryland or Metro Maryland. While, West Virginia, Central and Southern VA are closer to Alexandria, Va than the next closest region and you would be eligible to play for FBU Nova.
  • Date: Sunday October 9th, 2016

History of Team Maryland in the FBU National Championship Tournament

In order to gain respect nationally and turn the DMV into a Nationally respected Football HOTBED, we must take State All Star Teams and play against State All Star Teams from North Carolina, from Georgia, form Florida, from Louisiana, from Texas, etc.

We must have a platform to compete against those teams and WE MUST WIN!  The platform must be a respected platform and when we participate in that platform, play against those state All Star Teams with the best that the DMV has to offer, we will begin to CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!

We have already started the process. As we change perception the colleges will Notice and MORE scholarship offers will come to the DMV when we become that Nationally respected Football Hotbed.

Football University is the ONLY National Platform that provides an opportunity for us to change our perception. They own the US Army All American Game which has the top 4 and 5 Star HS athletes each year that have committed to the top Colleges.  College Programs follow the US Army Game and they Follow FBU because both properties are owned by the same parent company, All American Games (AAG).

AAG created FBU to find the next group of elite middle school athletes that will one day have a chance to play in the US Army Game.  The connection between FBU and Major Colleges is purely undeniable.  FBU is critical to our overall objective, which is to maximize our athletes chances to compete for a college scholarship.  If you are not interested in playing college football, this is probably NOT the tournament for you and there are other opportunities that we can refer you to.

FBU's 64 State Team National Championship Tournament at the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade division is like the Little League World Series of youth football.  NOTHING CAN COMPARE to it.  Team Maryland 7th Graders followed my lead and obliterated Central Virginia, Eastern Carolina, Chicago, Massachusetts, South Florida, and NE Louisiana on the way to the 7th Grade National Championship in 2012.  It was not about winning a ring.  It was about revolutionizing a Region guys and earning National Respect, which in turn will increase scholarship offers for this region.

This year we have two Maryland teams, Team Maryland and Team Metro Maryland.  We are not only looking for players, but we are looking for coaches for both teams.  we also work hand and hand with, and support Team Northern VA.  If any of the 3 of us win, the DMV wins.

That is how serious this is for us at Grassroots.  If we are going to be successful in changing the entire paradigm and perception about our region as a football power, which will in turn, manifest itself with more scholarship offers to our region, your child will have a better chance at earning one when he graduates.  You need for this to happen and we are the ones to make it happen.  For the last 4 years, Maryland put formidable teams together at all 3 age groups.

When we begin to dominate the FBU Tournament at every level and win Championships in front of 200,000 viewers on the internet, along with the powerful marketing and promotion campaign of FBU, college coaches will look at us differently all over the country.  High School football coaches from all over will understand that the youth football leagues in the DMV are putting out monsters that are a force to be reckoned with.  The game will continue to change!!!

As more an more of them matriculate to college and dominate, you will see our average number of scholarship offers increase each and every year.  This is the mission that we are on at Grassroots and we are succeeding.  Check out the Grassroots Track Record if you need more proof. Click Here to see the details.

No single event or showcase is more important to the machine than the FBU National Championship Tournament.  The 2nd Team Metro Maryland allows us to service twice the number of 6th, 7th , and 8th Graders and offer them an unreal experience.  Supporting Team Nova, gives us 3 times the roster spots.

If you think you are ready for this level of football, click on the link below and we will see you on Sunday Morning......Spread the word!!!!!!

Maryland High School Crab Bowl powered by Under Armour

Grassroots is proud to be an official partner of The Maryland Crab Bowl, Powered by Under Armour.  This is Maryland's only statewide High School football all star game. The game will feature the best Senior all stars from public and private schools in the state of Maryland. CLICK THIS LINK to learn more about the HS Game.

The Game will consist of 90 players split on 2 different regional teams. The Washington regional team will consist of players from Montgomery, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Calvert, St.Mary's, Charles counties, and the Eastern Shore. The Baltimore regional teams will consist of players from Howard, Baltimore County, Baltimore City. Frederick, Washington, Allegheny, Cecil, Harford, Carroll, and Garrett.

The Maryland Crab Bowl is in its 9
th year and has alumni that include Tavon Austin (WVU/ St. Louis Rams), Jelani Jenkins (Florida, Miami Dolphins), Kyle Fuller (Va Tech, Chicago Bears), Ego Ferguson (LSU, Chicago Bears), 5 other NFL players, and over 450 college football players. Rivals, Scout and 247 Sports considered the Crab Bowl the top in-state all-star game in the country.

We are also excited about this partnership because it will allow our GYFL alums to have an opportunity to play in an elite level HS All Star Game. Of course we are locked in heavy with the US Army All American Game, as well as the Under Armour All American HS Game.  But, we understand that only a small percentage of our alums will be invited to those exclusive Nationally televised games.  The Crab Bowl allows for the masses of our HS alums to play in a next level game and get maximum exposure during the peak recruiting period for colleges.

High School Alums had the opportunity to try out of for the HS game by attending one of the Crab Bowl Evaluation Camps in July of 2016.  You guys don't want to miss out on the Crab Bowl Experience.

At the most important period of the HS recruiting season, our middle school athletes will receive unprecedented exposure.  The top HS coaches will be on the sidelines of our games.

This is all brought to you by Tony Kennedy of the Mid Atlantic Sports Foundation.  To learn more about what they do and offer visit www.midatlanticsportsfoudation.org.

We want to create more opportunities for 5th Graders so each 6th grade team will have the option to reserve up to 10 spots on their rosters for 5th graders.  So 5th graders get an early jump on the radar screen by attending the Burning Sands and Crab Bowl Tournament.  If you have a son interested in this amazing opportunity in ANY of the above regions contact the Team Director at the contact number listed for tryout information.

We are very excited to build the youth Crab Bowl to the same level as the High School game.  What we love so much about the Crab Bowl is that the Semi Finals and Championship Games will be played at the prestigious McDaniel College in Westminster, MD on Dec 17th and 18th.  Quarter Final Games will be played during the week the 12th through the 16th at regional facilities (Georgetown Prep, Spalding, Bishop McDevitt, and McDaniel College).

As much as we enjoy the travel of FBU, very few if any of the local high school coaches are going to be traveling with us.  This is a great opportunity for players who are good, but may not be deep on the radar yet, to really get some good exposure in the heart of the recruiting season.  While Team Maryland and Team Metro Maryland are competing Nationally in the prestigious FBU National Championship Tournament, the rest of the DMV will be competing locally for Mid Atlantic Regional Supremacy against some of the best teams in the North East.

The youth players From DC, MD, Northern Va, Pennsylvania, and Delaware will have an opportunity to audition for the Crab Bowl in 4 different ways:
  • Playing in the GYFL Spring League
  • Playing in the GYFL Fall League
  • Attending the Burning Sands Invitational in October of 2016
  • Series of additional regional tryouts to be scheduled as needed
What more could you ask for?  If you want to be a part of THE GRASSROOTS YOUTH CRAB BOWL, sign up for the Burning Sands on October 2nd.

Crab Bowl Invitations:

How do I maximize my exposure to Top High School Coaches and Scouting Services? How do I maximize my chance to make one of the Grassroots Post Season All Star Teams?

The answer is the Burning Sands Invitational IV for 5th - 8th Graders.

THE BURNING SANDS MIDDLE SCHOOL SHOWCASE EVENT!!!!!!

The Burning Sands is a Showcase Event for middle school prospects (including current 5th Graders). Our Fall League participants have the benefit of auditioning for us, the top HS Coaches in the DMV, and the top Scouting Services in the country every weekend during Grassroots games.  In an effort to give a fair shot to those kids who are playing in other leagues, the Burning Sands has been expanded.  All of the top public and private school coaches in the DMV will be on hand at this event and they will be looking for the next crop of talent to fit their program needs.  The question is, will you be there to get noticed?.

Last year at this time Rakim Jarrett and Luke Hill were Elite Level 8th graders being recruited by the top High School programs in the DMV.  They had made their names in the GYFL and on the Team Maryland in the FBU National Championship,  We knew how good they were and what their future would hold regarding college scholarship offers at the next level, but they BOTH wanted that National Recognition that only the FBU All American Game Selection could give them.  They followed the program.  Their parents listened. They worked hard.  They killed the Burning Sands. And as you can see in the above graphic, they were both named to the most prestigious 9th Grade All American Game in the USA.  They are just the first two!! There will be more, trust and believe.

We know what we are doing folks.  We are subject matter experts and we have this down to a science.  We want you to trust us and come see how we do what we do.  It all goes down at the Burning Sands V on Sunday October 2nd, at St. Johns College High School.  Who wants to be the next FBU All American from the DMV?  If it is you, then you know what to do.

In addition to exposure to the top HS coaches in the DMV, this is additional look for the FBU Teams State All Star Teams.  This is NOT the official FBU Tryout, but we are always scouting for talent for our MD State Teams.  We don't put more stock in any event more than the Burning Sands when finalizing roster spots for the FBU Teams.

FBU National Championship Tournament Opportunity:

For 2016, we are able to offer the athletes of the DMV NOT ONE, but TWO FBU Teams.  Not only is the Nationally known and respected Team Maryland coming back stronger than ever, but FBU has given us the opportunity to present Team Metro Maryland as well.  So we will have 70 6th Grade roster spots, 70 7th Grade roster spots, and 70 8th Grade roster spots to fill!!!  There are FBU opportunities for ALL of the Goons now.  This is unprecedented.

In addition, we have partnered with Team Northern Va to help them field all of their teams as well.  So between the 3 FBU Regional Teams, there are now 105 roster spots per age group for your athlete to have a chance to compete in this spectacular tournament.  It does NOT matter what league you play in. FBU is for you and the Burning Sands is where you get noticed.  Now, if you are not aware of the importance of the FBU National Championship Tournament and how it can change your sons life, it is is imperative that you do some homework.  Go to www.FootballUniversity.org to learn about the parent company.

It is simply hands down the most prestigious, most competitive, most important, and most scouted Youth All Star Event in the United States of America.  It would take me 5 pages to explain all of the benefits.  Please visit the FBU website to learn about the company and all that it is tied to, including but not limited to, the US Army All American HS Game televised on NBC every January.  Next, visit www.FBUNC.com to learn about the tournament.  Trust me, the best of GYFL's best all come through FBU.

Youth Crab Bowl Opportunity:

This is the only official tryout Youth Crab Bowls that will be truly spectacular this winter. There will be 8 regional Teams battling it out at McDaniel College for regional supremacy the weekend before Christmas. Those that have experienced the Crab Bowl understand that there is NOTHING like it in the Mid Atlantic Region.  If you don't know, you really should ask somebody that is respected and connected.  The HS coaches of the DMV flock to the Youth Crab Bowl to mine for local talent.

Highlights of the Championship Games will be shown Christmas Day on Comcast Sports at halftime of the HS Crab Bowl, which will be aired on tape delay.  Click Here to learn more about the Youth Crab Bowl.

Youth Capitol Bowl Opportunity:

The inaugural Youth Capitol Bowl drops the weekend after Christmas and will be played at the beautiful Georgetown University.  It will pit an All Star Team from Northern Va at 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade against the runner up of the FBU Maryland teams.

Unfortunately, both Maryland and Metro Maryland can't both advance to the Final Four in the FBU Tournament.  Both have a chance, but at some point they will have to play each other and one has to lose.  The loser will be out to prove something and the Capitol Bowl is where it will get done. Gonna be electric and played right after the High School Capitol Bowl.

Elite Level Scouting Opportunity:

From a scouting and exposure standpoint, the Burning Sands is unmatched.  The top nationwide HS scouting services like Rivals.com, and SEN will be on hand to capture all the action, rank the athletes, and provide unprecedented national exposure.  The one and only Youth1.com will use results from the Burning Sands to rank the next group of stars from the DMV to grace the Elite 101 and Freshman 450 lists.

Don't miss it.  Space will be limited, so sign up before spots run out!

To truly understand the value of this event and how it can change lives, just take a look at the article from the Baltimore Sun on three of our alums who are currently juniors in High School.  It breaks down how an important element of college recruiting works by the Mid Atlantic Regional Director of Scouting for Rivals.com.  Notes:

  •  * The Friendship Collegiate Academy is for the first time attempting to put together middle school football teams.  The Junior Varsity Entry is a pilot program for them.  The majority of their student athletes have not played organized football before and the goal was to get them familiarized with next level football, not to focus on winning a championship in this first year.  A decision has been made by The GYFL Executive Committee, in conjunction with the Coaching Staff of the Friendship Collegiate Academy to play an exhibition season and NOT be eligible for Post Season Play in the 2016 Season.  We will keep their scores and records for the rest of the season, but they will not participate in the playoffs this year.
  • The reason is that there are 4 players who don't meet the age requirement, as stipulated by the GYFL.  Each of the 4 players have been evaluated by the Executive Committed and based on size and talent, it is universally agreed that they Junior Varsity League is the most appropriate league for ALL 4 of them. However, they don't meet the age requirement, as stipulated by the league and we are making a concerted effort to be consistent with ALL of our rules for integrity of the league to be maintained.  The 4 kids are good players, but they do not pose a size advantage, or a skill advantage by any means.  With that being said, without them the Knights would fail to be competitive and the organization requested the opportunity to disqualify themselves from the playoffs in order to allow the 4 young men to play each week.
  • What we will do each week is conference with the team scheduled to play Friendship, and give the opportunity to play against them for the work, the exposure and the benefits, without the possibility of taking a loss that will hurt their playoff chances.  We expect that the majority of our teams will have no issues with this, just as DMV Academy had no issues and played them today, defeating them 25 to 7.
  • Continuing to allow them to play benefits the league by maintaining a consisted 3 game schedule each week, without forcing any teams to have to take byes.  It also provides good competition for those young men to develop, as well as their opponents.  There is no downside to any of the other teams to play them, as any loss will NOT count against them come playoff time.  The top 4 teams in the league will advance to the playoffs.
  • If there are any questions about this decision, please feel free to email Neil Hamilton at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
  • **On 10/8 The MD Heat JV played an exhibition game against the Central VA Hurricanes and won 19 to 6 in a thriller.  The Game is NOT included in the standings or the point differential because each team did NOT play them.

Grassroots & HD Reaction Safety Initiatives for 2017

HD Reaction Fall Check Up:

As we usher in the 2017 Spring GYFL Season, we are excited to announce the Grassroots Safety Awareness Initiative.  With HD Reaction, the GYFL will provide every athlete a platform for play at an elite level and a forum for peak performance based on scientific methodology.

HD Reaction will help prepare you for the upcoming season like a real Pro using the HD Reaction Fall Checkup. All GYFL athletes past and present have an opportunity to be screened by expert trainers of Explosive Performance. Any current athlete and GYFL alum may participate in these free screenings.

The Functional Movement Screening (FMS) is a series of movement analyses designed to evaluate the athlete’s strength and flexibility within the range of motion. The Trigger Point Myofascial Release, will relieve muscle spasms and knots, revitalizing those overworked and tired muscles that can hinder optimum physical performance. The ACL screening will evaluate the integrity and stability of the knee ligaments.

Each screening has been specifically selected to ensure that you enter the season ready to put in the work to reach the next level.  The focus of each screening is to help each athlete prevent injury and maximize performance.

The SCREENINGS are FREE OF CHARGE!!!

To learn more about HD Reaction and their outstanding offerings, CLICK HERE to visit their site!!!

Smart Brain Baseline Concussion Program:

As a part of this very important initiative the GYFL will also be introducing baseline concussion testing and management through Sports Brain. Concussion Education is an integral component of every sport entity that cares about its athletes. The GYFL in conjunction with Sports Brain will monitor return to play data to ensure athletes are given the appropriate care needed for full recovery.

All GYFL athletes are encouraged to take advantage of the service provided through the Sports Brain app. Participation in this comprehensive concussion management program is a major step in ensuring each player is properly evaluated before resuming game play and practices. Concussion baseline testing is mandatory at the high school and collegiate levels.

Youth athletes are finally being given access to a very necessary tool to address injury responsibly and outline individual plans for return.

Stress the importance of each of these opportunities.  If there are questions, please forward my information so each can be appropriately addressed.  We want 100% participation from your organizations.

The GYFL and HD Reaction cover you from head to toe!

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I have been telling you all about SEN Television and what they are going to be doing regarding 2016 Fall GYFL Coverage, but it goes WAY beyond that.

Each week, we will have a Varsity Game of the Week pitting two of our best teams. Some weeks we will play on Thursday Nights under the lights, and some weeks we will play on Saturdays. But each week, 2 of the teams will receive the gift of a lifetime and an opportunity to be seen all over the world on internet television.

There will be sideline reporters, a pre-game, halftime, and post game desk show!! It will be phenomenal. Your family members will be able to watch your kids play on smartphones, laptops, or tablets in other countries if they want to. That is major and SEN is bringing it to you live and direct.

We open up the Fall Varsity season on September 1st, with a production that will blow the DMV's mind.  We will bring you the GYFL Reigning Fall Champion Maryland Heat, against the Parkside Shutdown Warriors.  Between these two teams there are 10 of the Elite 101 selections by Youth1.com from this area.  The talent on display will be insane.

For a link to the entire Varsity Schedule to see when your team is playing in the Showcase Game of the Week click HERE.

To Get familiar with the TYPE of GYFL coverage that they have already been providing:
https://sentelevision.com/gyfl/

They have all of the Spring Weekly Coverage, plays of the week, top performers, etc. They have write ups from the SEN Youth Showcase that are next level. They have coverage of the Grassroots Champions Club/GameChanger/PlayMaker Ceremony that is simply breathtaking, including Photos from the red carpet as the PlayMakers got off of the Limo Bus!!

Red Carpet photos were insane. Where else to 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders break out tailored suits man? Super Star St. Johns 9th Grader Rakim Jarret won the Best Dressed Award.
https://sentelevision.com/2016-gyfl-game-changer-award-cer…/

The even lived streamed the actual awards ceremony and it worth the price of Gold to hear
Doc Walker give the Key Note speech at the end. Check that out: https://sentelevision.com/2016-gyfl-game-changers-ceremony/

The Photos and Coverage of the Hot Gates at the University of Maryland was just extraordinary:
https://sentelevision.com/?s=hot+gates.

These guys just do it differently Folks. You really don't understand what you are missing. Their focus is on High School and they will become even more important for you when you get to High School, but we are blessed that they see the benefit in GYFL and provide exclusive access for us. Some of the content is free with a free account and log in. The VIP access requires a subscription fee per month, but it is WORTH EVERY PENNY in my humble opinion.

Not only does a VIP account give you access to ALL of the above content and so much more, there is some new stuff coming!!!!

SEN has some new twists coming for the Fall of 2016.

#1. SEN Pre-Season Promo videos of the Fall Grassroots Teams.  These things will be smoking!!!!!  Two of them are already up.

Check out the Northern VA War Eagle Varsity Promo:
https://sentelevision.wistia.com/medias/o14ltk6k8h.

The Maryland Heat Varsity Promo is up as well.  Check it out: https://sentelevision.wistia.com/medias/yygmnzeqpu.

Who does it like SEN?

#2. SEN Ranking System is coming. I don't want to say too much just yet, but they will be ranking athletes down to the 7th grade using a complex methodology that will truly be able to capture and accurate assessment of how good the players are, while also projecting what they can be in High School.

#3. The GYFL Message Board is already set up!! I just tested the Forum myself and once we all get comfortable with it, Let the TRASH TALKING COMMENCE: Here is the link:
https://sentelevision.com/forum/. You can access the forum with a free account.

#4. Live Stream of GYFL Varsity Game of the Week. These guys are going to literally break out ALL of the Bells and Whistles for us the same way ESPN does with the Pre-Season HS games that are about to flood our screens over the next two weeks.

#5. SEN/Hudl Accounts are here to stay!! Last Spring there was just not enough support for the Hudl account to justify them filming every game in the Fall. Consequently, we have NO legitimate, high quality HD Film from last season. It is heartbreaking for me to know that we can't afford to hire a videographer to capture each and every game like we did in the past. But that is our reality. There is nothing more important for middle school athletes than video and highlights. SEN has provided that through an exclusive Hudl deal for the last 2 Springs, and THIS YEAR they are bringing it to the Fall.

Enough of you supported it and saw the vision in the Spring to provide them with the incentive to take the financial risk of sending their staff to every stadium to film every game, at great expense to them. I am glad they did, but it is UP TO YOU to TAKE ADVANTAGE.

One of the things they are doing this year that blows my mind is that they are offering a special package that will allow any parents who sign up for the monthly subscription (which provides all access to every bit of content), to receive seasonal Hudl Access FOR FREE!!! Yes I said it. I suggest you jump on this and spread the word because it may not last long.

Here is the link for the deal:
https://sentelevision.com/gyflhudl/

In Conclusion:

My main point is that we need to support these guys. They are the only game in town. Nobody else does this for youth and they are taking a great risk to do it. GYFL does not make a penny from the deal with SEN, but what we receive from them from a value perspective is Priceless as far as I am concerned. They are helping us market our kids and our company to the world and we need to make sure they are successful so they will keep coming back.

So check them out!!! Don't spend anything that you don't have. But, if you can afford to invest in some next level coverage and access for your son, you should do that because it matters.

If you can afford to get a Hudl package for your son, there is NOTHING more important and you should do that because it matters.

If all you can do is jump on the Forum for free and keep it funny and interesting, you should do that too!! I just think these guys are great and what they are doing is revolutionary. You combine a revolutionary league with a revolutionary media company, and the sky is the limit.

GYFL Coaches and GM's it is imperative that you communicate this information to ALL of your parents immediately. I will be watching closely to see who is sharing and commenting on this. Our parents need to know SEN.

For those of you that are just finding us and want to be a part of one of the top youth football leagues in the country, all of the details about our league can be found by CLICKING HERE!!!

If you are not convinced yet and need to see our track record, you can find that by CLICKING HERE!!!

Grassroots and SEN are the ticket to the next level.

Tailgating:

Tailgating is NOT allowed by the facilities that we rent.  There can be NO grills, either gas or charcoal in the parking lot.  We will have concessions available and they will be fabulous.

We have gotten a few responses from people with dietary issues that can't eat regular food and we have granted permission to a couple of people on individual cases.  If you have not been granted specific permission by me, please do not attempt to bring coolers into the stadium.  The only exceptions will be coolers used for teams.

The following guidelines will be in place at all GYFL sanctioned games:

  • There will be a $5.00 per person entrance fee (Except Thursday Night Games at High School Stadiums where the fee will be $3.00)
  • On Thursday Nights at recreation fields we are not allowed to charge, so there is no fee. Donations are always welcome to help us cover expenses.
  • Children 5 years of age and under will be admitted free of charge.
  • Wristbands or stamps will be issued during games when a fee is charged, which will allow everyone to regain entry back into the games, should you need to depart the game for any reason.
  • Different colored wristbands will allow different levels of access.  Field access is one color.  Stadium access will be another color.  You will not be allowed on the field or track without the appropriate color wristband.
  • No outside food of any kind will be permitted inside of the GYFL games, unless otherwise instructed.  Check website regularly.
  • NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS are allowed on any field turf stadiums.
  • Coolers will not be permitted into GYFL games under any circumstances unless you have received prior authorization from GYFL Management Staff. **Exceptions to this guideline will be made in regards to infant formula, emergency kits, etc. – again prior authorization should be obtained before entry into the games will be given**
  • All bags are subject to be searched by security prior to entry and security will be located at each gate.
  • No smoking is allowed on High School Facility parking lots or common areas.
  • No weapons of any kind are permitted.
  • High School grounds are not to be used as public restrooms!!!  Patrons must use bathrooms or Porta Johns.
  • Schedule is Subject to Change by GYFL.

2016 GYFL Fall Varsity Schedule Venues

(Subject to Change)

Note: We are raising the bar again and introduce Thursday Night Lights this year at our Varsity level.  On specific weeks and some of them are still to be determined as of 9/6/2016, we will attempt to take our best Varsity Showcase Game of the week and play it Thursdays at 7:30pm under the lights so all the HS Coaches, scouts, and even local college coaches can come see the Future of DMV football.

Fans will also be able to see the best that we have to offer on Thursday and not have to miss their own sons games, HS, or College games on Saturday.  The season opener was spectacular at Spalding HS on September 1st.  We will play games at the beautiful White Marsh Field in Bowie, as well as Lamond Riggs Recreation Center in NE Washington, which has an awesome facility.

Stay tuned to the site, FB, and Twitter for any changes and/or.  Whether we play on Thursdays or Saturdays, our Varsity Showcase game will be Live Streamed by SEN Television and will be covered like Pre-Season HS Football Games shown on ESPN.  Expect sideline reporting and a desk Pre-Game, Halftime, and Post Game Show.

We will roll out all the bells and whistles for our showcase games, which are listed in the schedule.
