I5 Elite

20  Spirit of Faith 13

Last Friday night, in front of a packed crowd, the i5 Elite 6th grade team took on a very tough Spirit Of Faith Worriers squad. The game came down to the athletes battling in the trenches (Offensive and Defensive Line). A lot for times these guys are overlooked, when it comes to awards, but it was evident on Friday night who decided the game. i5 Elite, was led up front by a dynamic group that included the likes of Gregory Burno, Joe Bearns, John Avara, Kaede Goings, Ethan Bell, Kody Schloer, Isaiah Norwood and Jaden Allison. This group helped open holes for one of the most dynamic backfield in the GYFL, while also slowing down SOF, tough, signal wing offense.

The speedy, Caron Tull, lead the way with well over 100 yards on the ground, and added 2 touchdown runs, both, over 50 yards apiece. The strong running of Carl "Sixx" Hawkins, helped wear down a tough SOF defense. He broke off numerous runs throughout the course of the game, but none more important then a 65 yard run that put i5 Elite in scoring position to take the lead for good. Jadiel Mendoza, added a nice 25 yard touchdown, on a run where he broke a tackle in the backfield, and out raced the SOF defense to the end zone. Quarterback, John Griffith, commanded the offensive charge, and connected with Caleb Estes, and Jaden Lambert for big gains.

The defense did an excellent job containing SOF big backfield. The linebacking core came up big in the clutch, led by Carl "Sixx" Hawkins, Joe Bearns, Myles Downing, Adarius Atkins and Anthony D'Urso. I would be remiss to leave out hard hitting safety Michael Anthony. That kid brought the wood all night.

i5 Elite came away with an impressive win, in a hard fought game by both teams, 20-13. Great job!

Week 3 Saturday September 20th @ St. Johns HS

Fatz Bulldogs

49  Hamilton Tigers 20

The Fatz Bulliez Bulldogs against The Hamilton Tigers in 6th Grade Competition. Traditionally, The 6th Graders would play on Friday Nights. Yet today, these teams got a taste of The Big Stage at St. John's College High School. Neither team would come into to this one looking to do anything less then shine. With that sentiment expressed lets go straight to the recap.

As The Fatz Bulliez Bulldogs Running Back #1 in your programs and #1 in your hearts, Gary Rosemond Jr. put on a running exhibition for the record books. By matching Jabriel Johnson (better known as G5) with 5 rushing touchdowns on the day. 4 in the 1st half alone. With close to 258 on the ground, his one reception in the flats just was too much to overcome for Hamilton early. By the time #5 Jionni Brooks, a Fullback broke one for 70+ to virtually seal the deal in the 4th quarter. Bulldog Fans were hoarse before 11am!

Across the field from this scoring explosion by The Bulliez Bulldogs. Hamilton had done a more than fair share of adjusting and trying to contain this offense by playing their game to the letter. Head Coach Tyrone Roper, stayed with the game plan and got solid execution out of his offense in the 2nd half. Which stopped the scoreboard from catching fire leaving The Bulldogs Offense on the field. QB #1 Austin Tutas really settled down and started to manage the game well once they stopped looking to match touchdown for touchdown and put drives together that brought them what they desired.

#10 Calvary Harris did an outstanding job at giving his team better down & distance situations averaging close to 4.5 a carry in the 2 half for Hamilton. Along with WR #88 Andrew Coleman making some plays in the passing game. #55 Gabe Johnson led all Tigers in tackles, but The Bulliez had gotten out too early and way to vast of a lead.

The Final Score in this one.. 49-20!

Both teams showed alot of promise for the future as Our Broadcast Day started off EXPLOSIVELY!

Prime Time Players:

#1 Gary Rosemond Jr. - Fatz Bulldogs
#1 Austin Tutas - Hamilton Tigers
