GAME FIVE featured:

The Hamilton Tigers & Fort Hunt Federals

The Tigers come into this game with Ft. Hunt undefeated.. I'll say it again, UNDEFEATED!

Coach Craig Barnes has the control panel to one of THE MOST TALENTED COLLECTION of Student Athletes in GYFL History. And there's been some nice one's! I'll tell ya now. Across the lime lines and bold numbers stand a team of first year players who wont be denied. Many I saw the first time in The Spring League, but every team is different. That would not be the concoction you would want coming into a game against Hamilton right now. The Fed's were gonna take their crack at it though.

As The Tigers opened up the game with #1 Cameron Hart as the signal caller and #25 Nyjil Carr getting some major touches most of the game. With a lot of players getting some much needed bump. Hamilton really dug in deep as Hart showed his mobility and sizzle was still there at QB. On Defense, #2 Daryl "Footloose" Bacon.. No relation to Kevin! Has been a very active player in many of The Tigers games leading up to this one. #7 Kwesi Evans got some time to show off his route running and run blocking skill as well. Before #4 Trace Campbell came in and put Hamilton up with a strike before halftime. #5 Jabriel "G5" Johnson who gave us the power game last week. Showed he will always be The Baddest Jet in The Skies. As G5 took flight for BIG RUNS collecting 2 td's on the day.

After Halftime, though.. Fort Hunt opened up the playbook and play the book they did. Putting together some nice drives that led The Tigers to tweak their approach. As #18 Rodney Lee actually started to settle in and find his favorite target. #4 Hunter Stewart across the middle, down the sideline and Oh My Goodness.. A Beauty in Double Coverage! Megatron and Randy Moss would have been on the sideline bowing exclaiming, "We're Not Worthy!.. We're Not Worthy!" Lol.. aside from that. The confidence, knowledge and experience gained from this one will go a loooong way.  Stewart made 3 remarkable catches in this game that drew the attention of the Eastbay All American Game scout that was on the sidelines.

I'm not sure if it was: #36 Teddy Arvantis, #38 Patrick Devlin or #39 Brian Marshall who was flying all over the place. Likely, it was a combination of the three. The Secondary for The Fed's played with alot of solid technique and consistency. They lose this one, but learn what they need to do to win in the coming weeks.

The Final Score: 46 - 6, Tigers purr their way past The Feds!

Prime Time Players:

#25 Nyjil Carr - Hamilton
#5 Jabriel Johnson - Hamilton
#4 Hunter Stewart - Fort Hunt

In WEEK THREE, GAME  Six of GYFL Fall League Action..

8th Grade Division

This was an intriguing game to say the least.  Both teams had one loss on the record and both lost to Hamilton.  Westlake was blown out in the season opener before a lightning shortened game made the final score 36 - 12.

The proud Bulldogs took the licking and went back to work, putting 50 on the Federals in week 2 and looking for a chance to redeem themselves in this game against MoHo Co.  MoHo Co had a knock down drag out battle with Hamilton the week before losing late in the 4th quarter 18 - 13.  If you only evaluated scores you would think the Lions had the advantage and were the favorites to win.  They feature and All Star cast of athletes and a great coaching staff.

Westlake has a lot of pride though and came out with a defensive effort that held the Lions in check for the first 3 quarters.  Jalen Bam Bam Hampton and Shane Lee were not able to find any running room against the Myles "Triple Stacks" Harris led Bulldogs.  Sharp shooting QB Hudson Primus did not have time to throw and when he did had no receivers available.  The Westlake defense was too strong for the LIons on this day who were only able to score on a scintillating kickoff return by Zachary "Spanky" Dixon, who has been playing all season on an injured foot.  Even limping, he is better than most his age.

Kennedy McKissic had another strong outing at QB finding Rodney Harrison and Jermaine OC Johnson early and often.  Westlake got the running game going as well in this one, with the game being cut short due to darkness with a little over 7 minutes left in the game.  A final decision has not been made as to whether or not the game will be finished, or counted in the books.

The Final Suspended Score: 22 - 6, Westlake over MoHo Co.

Prime Time Players:

#2 Kennedy McKissic - Westlake
#12 Zachary Dixon - MoHo County
