WEEK TWO GAME FOUR:

***Battle of the Unbeatens & GOTW***
Fairfax County Colts 6
Hamilton Tigers 21

By no stretch of the imagination would I have thought to see Coach Redman from Hamilton do the impossible.. but he did!

Found a even BIGGER STUD to anchor that O-Line after "The AlphaMale" Al Cornish! In #92 Devin "The Grinch" Grinnage. WoW!! ..gimme a second.. WoW! ..and HE CAN MOVE LIKE A CAT! I'm done.. see this is when, Rev just looks at me a smiles!

The Ever Vigilant Recruiter from Hamilton was not alone this off season. As Fairfax County came up out of The Talent Pool with plenty of recruits as well. But none making their names like #6 Rodney Lee and #28 Tremon "Drop" Mourish-Brash. Lee, The QB of The Colts makes tremendously good decisions with the football in his hands. Either with his legs or his arm.. HE CAN PLAY! With "Drop" beside him, Who minds you can play EVERYTHING but a banjo and bagpipes. Fairfax fielded a VERY IMPRESSIVE TEAM Sunday Afternoon.

But there's always a but.. and this conclusion is No Illusion! #14 Josh "PeeYeeoohhh" Pugh is arguably hands down THE FASTEST PLAYER IN THE GYFL! I'm not a Gambler, BUT.. I would bet on that! With #3 Quizzon Tarver back on the field. QUIZZY?.. THEE QUIZZY?.. All I'm gonna say is that you missed a GREAT GAME! Next time you hear The GYFL is coming to town.. BE THERE! And G5 didnt have to take flight to get the win. Lord forbid when they click on all cylinders. Whooooooo!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Fairfax: #6 Rodney Lee
Fairfax: #28 Tremon "Drop" Mourish-Brash
Hamilton: #14 Josh "PeeYeeoohhh" Pugh
Hamilton: #92 Devin "The Grinch" Grinnage

WEEK ONE GAME ONE:

Marlboro Mustangs 0
Anne Arundel I5 Elite 45

In Junior Varsity action on Sunday.. "The U" as Marlboro is affectionately called started off the season looking to continue their legacy of fielding Dominant Defense Lines. #48 Johnathan Lee and #97 Harrison Wallace became obvious threats to every offensive lines game plans this year just by halftime. This tandem gets such a HUGE PUSH on the pocket that you better know what your doing or your gonna get flattened in what use to be the backfield.

Fortunately, I5 Elite (formerly GORC) came into the game with a full cast of Veterans from The Fall League. While missing ALOT of those players, this roster has more then enough to get the job done for Coach Montgomery and Phil Slye. #2 Kennedy McKissic brought the burnt toast and #13 Logic Hudgens came with coffee time. As I5, woke The Mustangs up to the tune of 45! McKissic threw for 3 TD's with Logic catching 2 from him. Then went back and got one by himself.

The Mustangs will definitely bounce back and I'm sure I5 has no intention on slowing down. The JV Division may be more wide open then Varsity this season.

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Marlboro: #48 Johnathan Lee
Marlboro: #97 Harrison Wallace
I5 Elite: #2 Kennedy McKissic
I5 Elite: #13 Logic Hudgens

WEEK ONE GAME 2:

Fairfax County Colts 6
D.C. Warriors 8

Now these two JV Teams are SPECIAL! Fairfax historically has been the Well Coached Unconfident 1st Year Players and DC has been the Fountain of Speed and Intimidating Play. Kinda like The Toons vs The MonStars on Space Jam. FOR AGES IT'S SEEMED LIKE! WoW!.. Do you even remember Space Jam?.. Micheal Jordan?.. Ricky Hairston!.. Same Thing! Lol

However, NOT IN THIS YEARS SEASON! The Colts have come to PLAY and Play they did! I dont know if Coach passed out "The Super Secret Drink?" But the team is NOT, I repeat NOT COMING TO LEARN HOW TO LOSE! By halftime, they were all over the place! Making open field tackles.. opening lanes, running strong.. converting 3rd Downs and blocking.. DID I SAY BLOCKING?.. These Boys Are Legit Contenders! #56 Rashaun Phelps wasn't the guy that WoW'd you on offense. He was the dynamo that was collecting tackles on defense like Shawn Merriman in his days with San Diego.

Across from them though, is The Heartbeat of Football Pride, Power and Speed. The Warriors never waiver in puttin together teams that will test your heart just as much as your 40 times! This squad does not disappoint. #2 Steven "Kah Chow" Williams does not leave you waiting long either. While given the name synonymous with Pixar Cars character "Lightning McQueen." The minute you see him take off you will know why. Coach Fats is one of the Best in DC at developing and supporting youth athletes. Has alot to smile about, as the exhibition went back and forth up the field with DC pulling it out in the end.

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Fairfax: #56 "Lights On" Rashaun Phelps
Beacon House: #2 "Kah Chow" Steven Williams

WEEK ONE GAME THREE:

Loudoun County WarEagles 12
Westlake Bulldogs 46

This game was "The Wake Up Call", as both teams came into Sunday's Contest looking to establish themselves firmly. The tention level was high! The skill levels were higher.. and NO ONE WANTED TO LOSE THIS GAME!

Loudoun County has became a FOOTBALL HAVEN! It's by no stretch of the imagination that the talent pools swam in, were gonna catch up to the time, talent and Awesome Coaching there. In rolls The War Eagles JV.. led by "Jay-J" #11 Josh Johnson who blew up the defense like sticky bombs on Grand Theft Auto 5! Lol.. every time you turned around Johnson found a way to make up for penalty yards and miscues that should have made things worst then what they were. Dont get it twisted, there was more thsn ample team play that was noteable. Johnson just made the plays that gave coaches a chance to say, "Okay we can do this!"

Across the field from them though is a team who really needs no introduction. Their core is all over Youth Football Talk Nationally. #24 Kameron Adams played for The EastBay All American Team. #42 "The Cannon" Antwain Littleton was the highlight machine during The FBU National Tournament this year and showed it. By scoring off the run, by reception and Pick 6 on defense. #19 "The CatBurglar" Andre Benson was The Fall Season Defensive Player of The Year Candidate. Micheal "The Panther" Prather has arguably been the absolute best all around back on the JV Level behind "G5!"

Its no wonder this game drummed up all kinds of emotions for those watching and those playing. I wouldn't call these two teams a rivalry. But if they met in the playoffs I would really rather watch from a safer distance than the pressbox! These two teams play hard and HIT HARDER!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

War Eagles: #11 "Jay-J" Josh Johnson
Westlake: #42 "The Cannon" Antwain Littleton
Westlake: #24 "The All-American" Kameron Adams

WEEK ONE GAME FOUR:

***Game of the Week***
THE ALL WHITE PARTY

Hamilton Tigers 33
MoCo Lions 0

This game featured two teams I'm almost, sorta, kinda, positively sure WILL be in the post season mix. Given an act of God close to parting The Red Sea! Lol

As The Lions come into the Spring for the 1st time without Trace Campbell under center. Littleton and Mini Cooper plays now for Westlake but they still have talent to burn. It was great to see #3 Chris "Lil Superman" Clark putting up lots of yards. Along with additions like #5 Rikye Torres, #12 Hudson Primus at QB and #74 Big George Wolo. The Lions will be a force in a VERY TOUGH JV LEAGUE! As long as #21 Tre "The SoX" Wade is around to make plays your gonna be in the ball game.

Unfortunately.. (cue Darth Vaders Anthem) across the field from them is a team that MOST COACHES!.. I said, MOST! All Caps now.. would wake up out there sleep SWEATING & SCREAMING frantically over if they had to play them in a meaningful game. The Hamilton Tigers ARE STACKED! When I say stacked.. I mean STACKED! The roster isnt written in braille, but a person with limited sight would drop this paper feeling the names on here SCREAMING! Lol

The GYFL Leagues Leading Rusher last year didnt play Varsity. He wore No. #5 for Hamilton and still does! The Most Electrifying Reciever in The League behind a Very Dominant Possession WR in Joshua Dodd for GORC was.. #3 Quizzon Tarver (didn't suit up) to play Sunday. #14 Josh "PeeYoouuuhhh" Pugh is SO FAST.. to compare him to a BLURR is unfair to him! Add #34 Deantay Mayo, #7 Kamerun Snell, #17 Kealin Wade, #1 Cam Hart, #42 "The Bull Dozer" Na'Jaye Boyd and surround them with Veterans like #66 Braden Puller, #12 Kylen Austin, #55 Kijuan Williams, #50 Anthony Anderson.. (panting) "Gimme a Second!"

Okay.. I caught my breath! It was game you had to see Sunday. I know its My Job to explain it. Let's just say, for all the great things MoCo did. Hamilton returned the favor with Big Plays for TD's! If GYFL had a video game version like Madden25. I would not be hard to understand why you wouldnt pick The Tigers. And I still never talked about the MAMMOTH offensive line or Suffocating Special Teams. I'm done! Rev, I cant type this much every week messing with you. Ma'aannn!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Hamilton: #7 Kamerun Snell
MoHo Co: #21 "The SoX" Tre Wade

GAME ONE OF WEEK THREE- VARSITY

Loudoun County WarEagles South 0
P.G. County Swarm 28

These 2 Teams got the day started with a BANG!.. As both teams came out the gate technically sound and looking for a victory on both sides of the field. But as the 1st half drew to a close you could see that the plays made by 2 New Members were easing the game into The Swarms favor. #17 KeShaun Wray (formerly with Fairfax) led the charge and #14 Jamal Speaks (formerly with HC Stars) really were key.

Never to be doubted though is that "WAREAGLE PRIDE" as they really rallied behind the solid defensive line play of #55 Joshua King and Secondary Standout, #14 Joseph "Joe Eeee" Nameth. At one point it was like the #14 vs #14 Bowl. As both student athletes took over the gridiron stage and left it SMOKIN'! But it would be P.G. who would be the only team to see the endzone that morning.

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

War Eagles South: #55 Joshua King
War Eagles South: Joseph "Joe Eeee" Nameth
PG Swarm: #17 KeShaun Wray
PG Swarm: #14 Jamal Speaks

GAME TWO OF WEEK THREE- VARSITY

Loudoun County War Eagles North 12
HC Stars 27

Two of The Best Coaches our league is blessed to have came into this game intense and ready to start putting the final pieces together before making a charge this season. Coach Rusty Markland from Loudoun & Coach Tee White from The Stars know how to put together a unit. No Doubt!

Also in the house today, was Maryland Terps Offense Lineman, Damian Prince and Defensive Lineman Dashawn Hand! (pictured above) The standouts came through to Show Love, Meet & Greet, Photo Op and Enjoy some Football, FOOTBALL.. FOOTBALL!

They say, Practice Makes Perfect! Well in this one, it took The War Eagles a second to realize it wasn't practice. As The Stars blasted off the ball and jumped to an early lead in front of a healthy crowd of Loudoun Supporters in the stands. #3 Ephraim "Easy E" Moore and #7 Squirrel Payton for the Stars continued to build on their ability to hook up in the passing game. After they won the season opener in overtime doing the same. I've watched Moore for good portion of his GYFL Career and he has really found his niche with The Stars.

But the run was not to go uncontested! Not by a long shot, Daddy! As The War Eagles came out after halftime HITTIN & STICKIN ANYTHING THAT MOVED! #55 Darby Macon had a STRONG GAME for Loudoun. Yet it was the emergence of 2 New Faces in War Eagle places that really stood out to me. Dubbed as "Iron Will" #66 Will Moore ascended from the defensive line as just another player but pillaging and plundering The Stars upfront. And with a KONG like beat of his chest.. "The GO-WILLA" was born! Between his savage play on Defense and #15 Graham Walker dropping PIN-POINT TEAR DROPS to his recievers with remarkable accuracy. The belief that this team could comeback was all too evident. I believed.. The crowd believed.. and The team believed too!

The problem with all that was.. Nobody asked Squirrel who took a simple Read Option play and broke the game open! The clock became an enemy versus a ray of hope to The War Eagles who go down. But stand affirmed, they have NO REASON to be considered out!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

War Eagles North: #15 Graham Walker
War Eagles North: #66 "The Go-Willa" Will Moore
HC Stars: #7 Squirrel Payton
HC Stars: #3 "Easy E" Ephraim Moore

GAME THREE OF WEEK THREE- VARSITY

Montgomery County Bearcats 38
Baltimore Metro Stallions 12

As The Bearcats look to be the 1st Team in The GYFL to REPEAT! They face a tough task today against The Stallions who came all the way from Charm City to due battle on the gridiron.

Then.. It happened! All the talking had ended abruptly, because #5 Tremayne "The Mayne Event" Stott took over the show. From endzone to endzone faster than Forrest Gump could say, Jenn-nie! He was GONE! And it wasn't hard to speculate either, as he would catch a good kickout block from #34 Jermaine Jeter. The Hamilton Tiger Alum showed what and how being an unselfish teammate can mean to the team. Jeter also had nice carries out the backfield and left his presence felt from the defensive side as well. I Love J.J.'s Game!

But not to be out done, was The Metro Stallions. Who debuted a New Weapon out of Holy Dirt literally! #11 Khalih Williams is officially "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business!" In the run, pass, defense and special teams. He seemed almost EVERYWHERE the football was. Between him and #71 "The BoogieMan" Karl Cromartie running a HANDS ON Scared Straight Program at the line of scrimmage. It wasn't to hard to see that the damage done early and often by Stott and Jeter would decide this one easily. But you couldn't tell that to Khalih.

The Champs get pass Coach Ty Johnson in a hard fought game where the Big Plays just took too much out of the Hope Bucket early.

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Bearcats: #5 "Mayne Event" Tremayne Stott
Bearcats: #34 Jermaine Jeter
Stallions: #11 Khalih Williams
Stallions: #71 "Boogie Man" Karl Cromartie

GAME FOUR OF WEEK THREE- VARSITY

***GAME OF THE WEEK***

Anne Arundel I5 Elite 15

Charles County HeAT 21

The Game of the Week was NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN! Those in attendance got the chance to see a DOOSIE! As both teams came into this one looking to leave a mark not only on the opponents mind but every fan watching from the bleachers. On a Saturday where the rain had come and gone. The Sun started to peak out from behind the clouds and Potomac HS had The GYFL packing the driveway of Panther Pride with Football Lovers from ALL OVER The DMV!

The Game was so heavily contested that 2 Major Things Stood Out to Me. If you were there and disagree.. feel free to comment below. The Debut of I5 Elite was a STATEMENT as Pure as The Game itself! WE PLAY TEAM FOOTBALL! No Gimmicks Needed, No Standouts, No None of That! And secondly, The Charles County Heat has THE BEST PLAYER IN PADS & CLEATS leading the charge for a GYFL Championship! Tell me if I'm Wrong.. but the addition of #4 "Baby Beast Mode" Jason Labbe to "The Razor"Raymond Boone.. is BANANAS!

This competition was TOUGH! As I5 Elite played a STRONG GAME led by #5 Zaire Allen, #12 Cameron White and "The Full Montee" #94 LaMonte Garrison denying EVERYTHING up the middle. Garrison has a heck of a motor for a Big Man as he never stopped coming forward ALL DAY LONG. But Coach Terrence Byrd is One of The Best in the business at making sight reads and conveying it to his team quickly.

That once this game was cut down to a 1 point lead in favor of I5 (15-13) late in the 3rd going into the 4th. Boone and Labbe had mustered up enough Big Plays to get it in reach. That's when Labbe bounced to the outside and MAN RAN over an I5 defender that even the spectators with the worst knees spring to their feet in the stands!!!

I would clearly say this with all honesty! I thought it was The Prelude to a Playoff Matchup that would fill FedEx if enough people say it via SEN Television.com

WoW!..

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Elite: #5 Zaire Allen
Elite: #12 Cameron White
Elite: #94 "The Full Montee" LaMonte Garrison
Heat: #21 "The Razor" Raymond Boone
Heat: #4 "Baby Beast Mode" Jason Labbe

GAME FIVE OF WEEK THREE- VARSITY

***THE HOMECOMING CLASH BASH***

Prince William County Raiders 0
Fairfax County Colts 26

Historically, The Grand Finale today would put 2 Teams together led by 2 Outstanding and Enthusiastic Coaches to the test. Traditionally, getting The Best out of their student athlete's is a bigger goal then winning philosophically. But today wasn't about tradition! Today we are in Virginia and the closest thing to a Home Game these 2 may see on the schedule. So emotions were definitely running high! The Prince William Alum, Jonte "BIG BAYYBAHHH" Craig along with several others came out to support as well. It was really good to see him and Momma yelling from the sidelines again, like the Good Ole' Days! Lol.. Last Spring!

The Colts had 2 players move up from their JV and it was gonna be interesting to see how they would gel coming up to Varsity. Along with both teams for once having legitimate QB's who could sling the pill from the pocket. Fairfax's #10 Johnathan Ball is a developing Read Option Passer and The Raiders #14 Casey Blankenship can make every throw from the pocket whether it's stationary or rolling to either side.

Fairfax Coach, Pret-tahhh Ricky Hairston and Raiders Coach, Eric Levenberry have shared similar challenges thru the years in The GYFL grooming and cultivating their teams. In many cases, wrestling with every gambit of a challenge there is short of the scoreboard. That on a couple of occasions I think either one of them would have been cool with just that. Recruiting has been challenging for both, but this year the Talent Spirit has swooped thru Fairfax for sure.

Staple Players like #44 "Heavyweight Champion of The Wooooorld" J Wrestlah Holzworth has played thru some TOUGH SEASONS! On some teams that would make you or break you. Same for Jonte.. which is why they came and keep coming. The Team bonds deepest thru adversity and No 2 other teams can say that more than The Colts & Raiders!

Prince Williams: #4 Isiah Tibbs, #7 D'Andre Stokes, #1 Elijah "ICE AGE" Snow, #43 Natanael Maravilla, #6 Bradley McGee, #33 Dallas Capaletti, #52 Danny Cruz and The Heart of this Team #75 Chris "Brick Wall" Emerson were just a few I really wanted to give light too. There was more, but printing the roster wouldn't be cool on Facebook. Lol.. PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT! I repeat.. PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT! But it would not be so as time and time again, dropped passes, penalties or just getting beat to the spot cost them this game you could see THEY WANTED! Especially coming out holding hands in sign of UNITY!

Across the field from them.. The Colts who been around knew that look The Raiders had was REAL! And they knew they had to beat it off their faces by playing sound football. And outside of a dropped pass or two, The Colts played VERY DISCIPLINED football. So much so, that it gave the impression that the Referees were partial. But there was a call down by the endzone where the player fumbled the ball crossing the goal that really sucked. Oops!..

Outside of that, The JV acquisition of repeat PTP'ers, #28 Tremon "DROP" Mouris-Brash and #8 "Poppa Smurf" Daiimon Cleveland proved to not only be wise, but put them over the top with HUGE PLAYS on Offense, Defense and Special Teams!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

In White: EVERYBODY
In Blue: EVERYBODY
In Street Clothes: EVERYBODY
In The Pressbox: ERR'BODY!

And since it's Mother's Day.. Err'Body Get In The Shot! Dad's take the picture.. Lmbo

Thank You All.. I had a BLAST! Cut this mic off I'm going home to get me some Pre-Mother's Day Sleep

WEEK ONE GAME ONE:

Charles County Heat 32
Prince William County Raiders 7

The Heat start the year off in a strong fashion! Coach Terrence Byrd arguably took the biggest talent hit from Fall to Spring. Yet brings you The Heat led by "The Number 1 Stunnahhh" The Razor Raymond Boone. Boone continues to validate himself as a playmaker in any phase of the game, simply by scoring and scoring often. His Pick 6, took this game that was played way closer then the score would describe and made it obvious. Big Plays are a MUST!

Coach Levenberry is clearly one of the BEST COACHES in this league of linebackers and lineman. And unlike Fairfax, the Raiders are still looking to build on an offense that moved the chains well.. lets just say.. In spurts! Both teams are solid and will be around as long as these two coaches lay the path. But you just gotta learn to stay away from THE RAZOR! Some say a QB is hard to find.. well its REALLY HARD to find a PLAYMAKER like this.

Varsity Level has a BYE this week, but play will resume in Dumfries, Virginia in Week 3! So all you Football Fans in VA get ready. The GYFL is coming to Potomac High School. All Cranked Up!

Here are your games "PRIMETIME PLAYERS!..

Charles County Heat: #1 The Razor, Raymond Boone
Prince William County Raiders
: #75 The BrickWall, Chris Emerson

WEEK ONE GAME THREE:

Baltimore Metro Stallions 0
Loudoun County WarEagles North 7

This game match two of The Best Coaches across from each other with equal weapons to duel with. The Inaugural Champs (Baltimore) has built a reputation to play hard nosed football over the years and Loudoun clearly didn't care. The WarEagles bring team depth, technique and meticulous attention to detail to the party. However, on this occasion the consistent play by the Big Guys upfront set the tone in this one. #55 Darby Macon for Loudoun was having a HUGE game in the trenches springing #25 Hunter Lawall for more then 150 on the ground.

Unfortunately, Macon was injured and left the game with prayers surrounding him. As Lawall and The WarEagles fought to run this one out. #71 "The Stocking Stuffer" Karl Cromartie did everything to stop just that all day. Stuffing many of the runs that would have been TD's. His efforts kept The Stallions in the game when penalties badgered them and it still limited Loudoun from really running it up. I look y o see both coaches in the playoffs though. Especially since Baltimore has never not made it in. Loudoun North looks real solid and made to play ball control football ALL DAY LONG!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Baltimore Metro Stallions: #71 "The Stocking Stuffer" Karl Cromartie
Loudoun County War Eagles North: #25 Hunter Lawall

WEEK ONE GAME FOUR:

Fairfax County Colts 14
Loudoun County WarEagles South 7

For the 2nd Year in a row The Colts started their Spring League campaign off with a victory. But none more than this one. I must say openly, "I was Very Impressed!" Not since Ty Crabb has Fairfax had a signal caller who could flat out throw the pill with accuracy and not be rattled. Longtime Colt John Holzworth"The Heavyweight Champ" has endured and been the anchor on some teams that would have broken another student athletes drive. To be on this team had to feel good for him. Optimistic isn't the word moving forward, its what they ARE!

Across from them, came The War Eagles South! The idea that Loudoun is rich in student athletes has been confirmed. Sound at every position I could see, the only thing that eluded this team was getting in the endzone. #8 Thomas Jarman put on a technical exhibition that few could not appreciate. As I saw on several occasions, he hid the ball so well.. even I didn't know where the football was! His football savy and slight of hand was stellar, but he really has to settle down and take what the defense offers. In time he will, and every snap makes him more lethal I believe and his team will flourish behind it. If he gets on a HOT STREAK Jarmin could be considered "Jammin!" Playing defenses like Sweet Guitar Soloist.

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

Fairfax County Colts: #7 "The Candyman" Shawn Wray
Fairfax County Colts: "Bling Bling" Daiimon Cleveland
Loudoun County War Eagles South: #8 Thomas "Jammin" Jarmin

WEEK ONE GAME FIVE:

***GAME OF THE WEEK***
H.C. Stars 13
Montgomery County BearCats 6

This rematch of last spring's North Division Championship Game was expected to be a SLOBBER KNOCKER! A DOGFIGHT! A BATTLE OF WILLS! However you wanna label it. You got 2 GYFL Championship Coaches both well above .750 in their win/loss columns career long here. That in itself is no small feet! The Core of the teams are comprised of BONAFIDE BALLERS! The new additions can either make you or break you and they would have to be horrible to not help out. In that case, they wouldn't be on the team anyway.

So "The WidowMaker" breaks a huge run and "Mayne Event" was getting to the edge for Mo County at will. I believe "JD Money" played everything but O Line to help the offense move the chains. And it gave the blaring look that for once.. The BearCats didnt have a Solid QB in sight. Now, I know Coach Andy has one somewhere and they keep a QB either in training or ready to rock.

It would in the end, lead to their demise in my opinion. As even with a late in the game pick run back to the 13 yardline with under a minute left. Put Mo County in position to Win.. it was #99 Cam "Mmm, Mmm" Goode shutting it down in the middle. With "Cowboy.. Yippee Kiyahhh!" and "The WidowMaker" giving the surge to keep them out of the endzone after working down to the goaline. A Heartbreaker for BearCats Fans and Chance at life for The Stars! Who welcomed Alumni Player Devin Miller of Archbishop Spalding to their sidelines cheering too.

That in OVERTIME!.. All the pressure appeared to have shifted or so it would seem. STARS New QB Squirrel Payton on the 1st play of the series finds the seasoned veteran "Easy" Ephraim Moore sitting down on his route DEAD CENTER of the endzone! And the CROWD WENT BONKERS! They picked up the extra point and Mo County gets their shot.

This is where it gets hard to accept.. because JD or Johnathan Donnelly's TD pass got them the score to tie it up. But My Man no disrespect.. should not have been under center. My Opinion!.. He's Electrifying on the edge or maybe as a back. But looking off coverages and read defenses takes time and talent. With everything on the line in OT.. He's your best option? I hope this was just a case of attendance or travel issues for a player. I trust Coach Andy wont leave that that way.

WoW!.. I guess I'm not the only one who wishes a QB would emerge in Black and Yellow. Cause The BearCats drop this one in what I would call a HEARTBREAKER!

Your "PRIMETIME PLAYERS" are:

HC Stars: #8 "The WidowMaker", Jeremy Mensah
**Dont let the Clark Kent's Fool You!**
Montgomery County Bearcats: "The Mayne Event" Tremayne Stott
Montgomery County Bearcats: "JD Money" Johnathan Donnelly

Note: * Represents a forfeit by Marlboro to Hamilton during week #5.  Since our playoff tie breakers are based on point differential, it is would not be equitable for Hamilton not to have a chance to play Marlboro and potentially gain or lose points.  The decision was made to take the average number of points scored for and against Marlboro during the first 3 weeks and apply that number to Hamilton.  The average point differential was 43 points. Therefore, 43 points were added to Hamilton’s point differential and subtracted from Marlboro’s.

** Represents a forfeit by Marlboro during week #6.  The same process of adding points to Hamilton was used to add points to MoHo Co for week #6.

Note: * Represents a forfeit by Baltimore Metro to Charles County during week #6.  Since our playoff tie breakers are based on point differential, it is would not be equitable for Charles County not to have a chance to play Baltimore and potentially gain or lose points.  The decision was made to take the average number of points scored for and against Baltimore during the first 4 weeks and apply that number to both Charles County and Baltimore.  The average point differential was 14 points. Therefore, 14 points were added to Charles County’s point differential and subtracted from Baltimore’s.  Only the top 8 teams will make it to the playoffs.

Tailgating:
Tailgating is NOT allowed by the facilities that we rent.  There can be NO grills, either gas or charcoal in the parking lot.  We will have concessions available and they will be fabulous.

We have gotten a few responses from people with dietary issues that can't eat regular food and we have granted permission to a couple of people on individual cases.  If you have not been granted specific permission by me, please do not attempt to bring coolers into the stadium.  The only exceptions will be coolers used for teams.

The following guidelines will be in place at all GYFL sanctioned games:

  • There will be a $5.00 per person entrance fee; however children 5 years of age and under will be admitted free of charge.
  • Wristbands or stamps will be issued during games, which will allow everyone to regain entry back into the games, should you need to depart the game for any reason.
  • Different colored wristbands will allow different levels of access.  Field access is one color.  Stadium access will be another color.  You will not be allowed on the field or track without the appropriate color wristband.
  • We will not have concessions so you are allowed to bring your own food.
  • NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS are allowed on any field turf stadiums.
  • Coolers will not be permitted into GYFL games under any circumstances unless you have received prior authorization from GYFL Management Staff. **Exceptions to this guideline will be made in regards to infant formula, emergency kits, etc. – again prior authorization should be obtained before entry into the games will be given**
  • All bags are subject to be searched by security prior to entry and security will be located at each gate.
  • No smoking is allowed on High School Facility parking lots or common areas.
  • No weapons of any kind are permitted.
  • High School grounds are not to be used as public restrooms!!!  Patrons must use bathrooms or Porta Johns.
  • Schedule is Subject to Change by GYFL.
