Rick "Doc" Walker gives tips at Contitioning Clinic

Note: The GYFL Conditioining Clinic season is in Jan - March of every year and is the prelude to peak performance at our Combine/Mini-camps.  The Combine/Mini-Camps are mandatory to make a Grassroots Spring Team for the Varsity or Junior Varsity.  The 2013 Conditioning Clinics ran in 5 different regions and were very successful at getting kids in shape and ready to perform.   Please read through the description below to find out what they are all about and how they work so you can be prepared for the 2014 Conditioning Clinic season.

Flyer for the Grassroots Players Ball

PLAYER'S BALL LAUNCH HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINATELY!!!  We will re-launch when school let's out for th summer.  Still read through the information.

Looking to take your game to the next Level? Throughout January and February of 2013, our focus was on conditioning and preparing for the combine/mini-camps that took place in March.  We focused on baseline conditioning, footwork, quickness, explosion, etc.  All of those components are critical to becoming a good athlete, and you need to be a good athlete to be a good football player.

In the past, we have done positional training through referrals, but not any more.  We have assembled a group of elite coaches, many of whom are retired NFL Players, and top HS Coaches who have agreed to come together to provide and elite level of training similar to what our athletes received at the High School Showcases, which ended on Easter Sunday.  If you were able to attend, then you already know what to expect.  If you missed our showcases, this is your chance to make up for lost time.

Beginning Monday night April 29th, we will begin these sessions 2 nights per week on Mondays and Wednesdays at the brand new turf field at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.  These sessions will run each week thorughout the summer to prepare you for your Fall Football Season.

Many of the same coaches that instructed at our Showcase will be on hand to provide this coaching.  There will be individual position coaching, along with one on ones, half line drills, and 7 on 7.  We have the entire football field, under the lights in the Shadow of Fed Ex Field.  We will have 7 different positions are working at the same time and we will bring offense and defense together at the end of each session.  There has never been anything quite like the Players Ball.

This training will prepare you for every event that you will attend during the off season.  It will get you ready for the exlusive invitation only events for kids with offers and who are close to getting offers like the NFL Prep 100, the Rivals/Under Armour Series, and the Nike Football Training Camps.

For the majority of kids who are not at that level yet, these trainings will prepare you for the Football University Camps that are hosted by Grassroots in the Spring and Summer.  It will get you ready for any of the college One Day camps that you will attend and/or 7 on 7 tournaments.  Ultimately and most importantly, after a few months of intense level training with the Grassroots Pros, you will be ready to excel at the most important time of the year, which is the actual Fall Football Season.  Be it youth club or high school, Grassroots will get you ready!!!!

View the flyer above for the list of coaches, but we are not trying to impress you with NFL names.  The time is approaching where when you see the name Grassroots on anything, you won't need to see big names to entice you to come.  The brand will speak for itself and you can assume that there will be top quality coaches and top quality talent, along with elite competition.

Open to Ages: 12 - 18.

Price: $30 for an individual session; $100 for a pack of 4 sessions ($25 per session); $160 for a pack of 8  sessions ($20 per session).

Note: The GYFL Combine/Mini-Camp season is in March of every year and is the prelude to making a Grassroots Spring Team for the Varsity or Junior Varsity.  The 2013 Combine/Mini-Camp season was very successful and concluded on March 30th at the DuBurns Arena.  You can click on the dropdowns to see the results for the 2013 Season.  Please read through the description below to find out what they are all about and how they work so you can be prepared for the 2014 Combine/Mini-Camp season.

Looking for more exposure for your Athlete? Our former NFL players, collegiate stars, HS coaches and trainers provide hands-on instructions and teach your player the same techniques that have molded some of the best football players in the country.

Grassroots Combines/Mini-Camps provide tremendous exposure for athletes interested in developing their talent as well as an opportunity to gain exposure to top public and private High Schools.  The showcase events provide a platform for athletes to be ranked by top scouting services.  Finally, the events provide the venue for athletes to be scouted for the 2013 GYFL All-Star teams.

These events are not only scouted by the top football brands in the region (FBU, Rivals, Junior Rank, Crab Bowl, Chesapeake Bowl, etc.), but they are run by some of the best trainers and coaches.  Some of the top personal trainers in the area will lead the dynamic warm ups and lead the athletes through the combine portion of the event during the first session.  The top High School coaches from public and private schools all over the DMV will lead the positional drills during the mini-camp session.  The RB Coach from Suitland may lead the footwork drills for fullbacks, while the DL coach from St. Johns teaches the proper 3 technique to the defensive lineman.  The Quarterbacks coach from Gonzaga may be working hand and hand with the WR coach from Riverdale Baptist.  On defense the LB coach from Gilman may teach the proper way to run a B Stunt, while Annapolis Area Christian's DB coach may be demonstrating the cover 2.  Take a Glimpse at last years combine video from The Sports and Learning to see for your self.  Click Here to see the video

Representatives from the hottest new scouting service in the country will be on hand.  SigningDay.com is a phenomenal recruiting tool that is not just for college kids.  SigningDay links the top youth prospects with the top High School Coaches and you have to see the product to believe what it can do for your son.  SigningDay will rate your son, rank your son, provide an outlet for your highlight videos and so much more.  They will be on site to demonstrate and evaluate.  Click Here for a demo of their site.

Our combines measure athlethic potential, provide valuable feedback, training guidance and on-field skills development for each athlete as they strive towards the next level of performance.

The results are tallied, posted on the web and eblasted to all HS coaches in the area.  Not only do will post the complete detailed stats for EVERY child that participates in the event, but we even go deeper and provide breakdowns for the Top Performers in each region.   Click here to see the Top Performers Page from one of last years Northern VA Combine/Mini-Camp to get a feel for the level of detail we will provide for your investment.
